Some of his other interests are Seinfeld, Tupac, Chess, and Guinea Pigs. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience providing therapeutic services to diverse populations. Scott’s approach to therapy is person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and integrative. This means that he cares about who you are, your strengths, and the effects of traumatic events, while also drawing from different approaches according to your unique needs. The theoretical frameworks he uses in his work are psychodynamic, attachment, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, and humanistic. Before Social Work, Scott served a twelve-year commitment in the U.S. Navy in the role of Hospital Corpsman. As a Hospital Corpsman, he was instrumental in providing medical care to both Navy and Marine Corps personnel. In addition to medical treatment, he provided education, training, and counseling to individuals and groups.

Throughout his personal and professional life, he has devoted himself to acts of service, building relationships, and finding value. These experiences have guided his learning and have informed his philosophy of care: ‘Therapeutic relationships set the stage for people to be empowered and develop effective strategies to live meaningful lives. The act of being heard and understood is the root of healing. Additionally, it can provide people with a safe holding environment to express feelings and receive feedback and guidance. This can lead people to live a life of peace, balance, and happiness.’
